The Rich Open started in Mo City, Texas, in the summer of ’96, with putters on carpet, hand-me-down clubs, and a father who believed we belonged on the course, even when the world didn’t. As Black golfers, we quickly learned that confidence had to come from within, because the game wasn’t built with us in mind. But we played anyway. We learned. We leveled up. And we never let go.
